  Arthur sat quietly reading oh his couch as he drank his favorite English tea. He stopped and put his book down on the table next to a candle. Getting up he walked over to the window and starred outside at the rain coming down. It had been raining all week and wasn't letting up.
  What a great way to spend Valentine's Day he thought to himself being sarcastic.
It was one of his favorite holidays, ok it was his favorite holiday because he was such a romantic and he gets to spend it alone and stuck inside his house with nothing to do. It was at times like these he wished he had some more hobbies, to make matters worse the power was out.
  "I bet it's nice and sunny in America right now and Alfred is sitting around eating candy and playing those stupid video games he's so into" Arthur muttered to himself.
Thunder sounded outside and lightning lit up the window. Arthur was about to pour himself another cup of tea when a loud knock came at his door. The knocking continued as Arthur headed for the door wondering who was crazy enough to be out in this weather.
  "Hey! Arthur!" exclaimed a loud Alfred standing at the door soaking wet and shivering.
  Arthur stood for a moment shocked that Alfred had come in this weather, then he quickly pulled him inside.
  "Are you mad?! It's pouring and you could have gotten hit by lighting!! You are going to catch a cold, you're dripping wet" Arthur quickly grabbed a towel and brought it to Alfred and began drying his hair.
  "Haha I come all this way to wish you a happy valentine's day and that's what I get, is yelled at?" Alfred laughed and pulled big heart shape box from under his jacket. Arthur had been so busy trying to dry him off he never noticed he was hiding it. Alfred extended it to Arthur and looked at him smiling his big goofy smiled he always smiled. Arthur looked at it for a moment, it hadn't gotten wet. He could tell America went through the trouble of making sure the beautiful red heart shaped box with the gold ribbon stayed dry.  Arthur took it from Alfred's hands slowly smiling.
  "Happy Valentine's day" Alfred whispered as he leaned forward and kissed Arthur lightly on the lips.
  Arthur blushed slightly then replied "happy valentine's day" and kissed Alfred back but more passionately. He ran his fingers through Alfred's wet hair and pulled him closer as the continued to kiss. Alfred's wet hair dampening Arthur's dry hair and shirt. After a few moments they broke away to catch their breath.
"Hold on I have something for you too" Arthur said as he got up grabbing a candle and left the room.
  Alfred waited patiently on the couch trying to dry his hair after he hung up his jacket and put his wet muddy shoes by the door. Arthur was a bit of a neat freak so Alfred made sure to not get the floor any dirtier than he'd already gotten it. He looked around the lightly lit room that was surrounded by candles. The fire place was on and made the room feel a lot warmer than outside. Alfred decided to get up and sit in front of it, hoping he would dry quicker that way and took off his shirt. The warmth felt good and his body began to relax.
  "I was planning to give you this after the rain cleared but seeing as you came here today I guess it'd be perfect. Here, Alfred" Arthur said coming over to him and handing him a huge box that was nicely wrapped in red hearts wrapping paper. He handed Alfred a large blanket as well to wrap around himself.
Alfred opened the box to find all kinds of his favorite sweets surrounded by a dozen rose petals. He smiled and kissed Arthur again.
"haha thanks Artie. You're the best, you always know what I like" he smiled again making Arthur blush and turn away.
"oh I haven't even opened yours yet" Arthur picked up the heart shape box and unwrapped it. Inside was an array of very expensive sweet chocolate's that he loved. In the middle was a beautiful red rose. Alfred knew roses were Arthur's favorite.
"oh Alfred, thank you" he smiled up at him.
  Alfred leaned over and brushed a flower petal against Arthur's cheek making him blush like mad. Arthur took his hand and pulled Alfred forward into another kiss. They sat there kissing in front of the fire for a few minutes.
"So since it's raining and there's no way I'm going back out in that weather, what do you want to do?" Alfred asked wrapping the blanket around Arthur warming him up.
"I don't know, I don't have much here to do and the powers out too."
"haha well I'm sure we can find some stuff to do."
   Hours went by as they played board games, talking and laughing, snuggling by the fire, and Alfred watching as Arthur sew. Despite the fact that the weather was terrible Arthur had to admit this was a pretty great Valentine's day, and Alfred made such an effort to come all the way.
  "Hey Alfred…" Arthur began as he snuggle next to Alfred under the blanket.
Alfred pulled him tighter and replied "Yeah Artie?" "It means a lot to me that you came all this way, especially today. Thank you."
Alfred rolled over so he was face to face with Arthur's. "of course, you're worth it and what kind of a boyfriend would I be if I let you spend Valentine's day alone."  He smiled a large sweet smile that he only ever showed Arthur. Arthur blushed as he buried his head beneath the blanket. He mumbled "Idiot."
  "Hey Artie you want some sweethearts?"
Arthur popped his head back up looking at Alfred still blushing. "sure."
Alfred extended his hand out to Arthur. Three little candy hearts were in his hand.
Arthur looked at the heart each with little words on them. The first heart said "I love you" the second said "Be mine" and the third heart said "Marry me."
Arthur blushed madly and looked up at Alfred's red face in confusion.
"What?"
"So what do you say?" asked Alfred as he used his free hand to pull out a ring from his pocket. He held it out in front of Arthur.
Arthur began to cry. He shook his head. "Yes! Yes! Of course Al!"
Alfred slipped the ring on Arthur's finger and wiped away his tears.
"haha bet you're real glad I made it here today. I love you Artie" He said as he leaned in to kiss Arthur.
Arthur laughed with Alfred. "haha Very glad. I love you too Al." He leaned in and kissed Alfred passionately on the lips as Alfred wrapped the blanket around them and all that could be heard was the roaring of thunder and the pounding of rain outside.
